AAC Visits Maastricht University

At the beginning of the year, an academic and administrative delegation from the Department of Public Health at Ashkelon Academic College visited the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. The visit, which took place on 18-19/9/19, was attended by: Prof. Ted Tolchinsky, Prof. Zohar Moore, Dr. Keren Duplet, Dr. Osnat Bashkin and Mrs. Galit Rosh.

The visit was interesting and varied, during which many fields of work engaged by the Department of Public Health at the University of Maastricht were presented to the Israeli visitors, the main one being the emphasis on a unique teaching method called Problem Based Learning (PBL), during which the emphasis is on of students’ group work and thinking outside the box. During the two days of the visit, which was a fascinating and enriching experience, the members of the delegation were exposed to the different aspects that reflect this vision. Many opportunities for possible international collaborations were created and strategic talks on continuing collaboration in the field of teaching and academia have been agreed upon.
