Yemenite Jews in modern times – Dr. Dov Levitan
How isolated were Yemenite Jews from the general Jewish world? What happened to them during the Holocaust? In a fascinating and thought-provoking lecture, which was given by Dr. Dov Levitan on February 1st, Dr. Levitan raised the topic of Yemenite Jews in modern times.
During the lecture, Dr. Levitan discussed the emigration of 50,000 Jews and their absorption into Israel (including the missing Yemenite Children Affair), and the process leading up to the extinction of the Yemenite diaspora during the past year.
The lecture was given to the HARIF UK Association of MENA Jews, which is active in promoting the History and Heritage of the Jews of the Middle East and North Africa.
