Computer Science’s Delegation to Taiwan

As part of a student exchange program, 4 students flew out this year from the Department of Computer Science for a research workshop at the National University of Taiwan.

As part of the workshop, the students developed a learning software to identify emotions aimed to strengthen social abilities for children with autism on the spectrum.

The learning software developed is based on the use of a robot that records the child as he speaks, processes the content of the sentence, and introduces to him an appropriate facial indicator of the type of sentence being said (for example, I am now offended, or glad to hear).

Thanks to this learning software, we hope that children with autism on the spectrum can significantly strengthen their social skills.
